Botox Cosmetic Frequently Asked Questions

Does it take effect right away?

It takes several days to effect and may be as long as two weeks.

How long does it last?

Botox lasts 3-4 months. With repeated injections it may last even longer so we encourage our patients to keep regular appointments for Botox.

Does it hurt?

There is minimal injection pain associated with the treatment. You can apply a topical lidocaine cream (EMLA cream) before coming to office to make it more comfortable.

Will I still be able to make expressions?

Yes! This procedure doesn't make you look "frozen" or like you've had cosmetic surgery. This is why EVERYONE loves Botox.

What are the side effects?

The most common side effect is bruising. You may also get swelling and redness at the injection site and in rare cases eyelid drooping. Please contact our office immediately if you have any reaction or problem.
